Everything a seller needs

Built for listing days

๐Ÿ”’

Nothing leaves your device

No uploads, no servers, no account. Your product photos stay on your own hardware โ€” which also means it works with no signal at all.

โˆž

No subscription, no credits

Not a monthly plan and not a credit balance that runs out mid-listing-day. One purchase, unlimited photos, permanently.

โšก

Fast, because it's local

No upload and download round-trip for every image. Apple's on-device machine learning does the work using the chip you already own.

โ–ฃ

Batch a whole shoot

Pick everything at once and process in a single tap. Results land in a tidy album, originals untouched.

โ—

Your backdrop

Pure white, transparent PNG, nine curated colours chosen to flatter product shots, or any colour from the full wheel.

โฌ’

Your shape

Most reselling platforms prefer square 1:1, so that's the default โ€” but portrait, tall, vertical and wide are all a tap away.

Two apps, one workflow

Shoot on your phone. Or work at your desk.

Get flawless cutouts

How to photograph your items

StudioDrop replaces and enhances the background โ€” it just needs a clean edge to find. Five minutes of setup makes every photo afterwards come out right.

โ˜€

Good, even light

Daylight near a window is ideal. Avoid harsh direct sun and deep shadows โ€” soft light gives the cleanest edges.

โ–ข

Plain, contrasting backdrop

A plain table and a plain backdrop is all you need. Many sellers shoot on a white table against a white backdrop and let StudioDrop handle the rest.

โ—‘

Make the item stand out

Dark items on a light backdrop, pale items on something darker. Similar tones are the main cause of imperfect cutouts.

โ—Ž

One item, filling the frame

Hands, props and stands get treated as part of the product. Keep it to the item itself, centred and large.

โœฅ

Steady and sharp

Brace your elbows or use a stand, and tap the item on screen to focus before you shoot.

โœฆ

Tame reflections

For glossy or glass items, angle slightly off-straight or soften the light to avoid bright hotspots.

The full guide is built into the app โ€” tap the โ€œ?โ€ button any time.

Why StudioDrop exists

Built by a reseller who got tired of paying monthly for something a phone can already do. Every background remover I tried was a subscription to an online service: upload each photo, watch a credit balance tick down, wait on the connection, and hand my product photos to someone else's servers.

StudioDrop is the opposite. It uses Apple's own on-device machine learning, so nothing is uploaded, nothing is metered, and it works with no internet at all. It's the tool I wanted for my own listings โ€” fast enough for a hundred photos in a sitting, private by design, and paid for exactly once.

Questions

FAQ

Do my photos get uploaded anywhere?

No. All processing happens on your device using Apple's Vision framework. The app makes no network connections at all โ€” it works fully offline.

Is it really a one-time purchase?

Yes. Buy it once and it's yours โ€” unlimited photos, no credits, no renewal, free updates.

What's the difference between StudioDrop and StudioDrop Go?

They're the same product for different devices. StudioDrop Go is the iPhone and iPad app โ€” pick photos from your library and process them anywhere. StudioDrop is the Mac app โ€” drag in whole folders for bulk sessions. Both use the same on-device engine and produce identical results. They're separate purchases; each works completely on its own.

What if a cutout isn't perfect?

Results depend on the source photo. Both apps include a built-in tips guide; the big three are even lighting, an uncluttered backdrop, and good contrast between item and background.

Are there any credits or usage limits?

None. It isn't a cloud service, so there's nothing to meter. Process as many photos as you like, forever, for the one purchase price.

What aspect ratio should I use?

Most reselling platforms prefer square 1:1, which is the default. You can also choose portrait, tall, vertical or wide depending on where you're listing โ€” the long edge is always 2000 pixels, so quality never drops.

What do the apps require?

iPhone and iPad: iOS 17 or later. Mac: macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon.
